Exhibition 2026

The I-RIM 3D 2026 will offer visitors the opportunity to see some of the latest technologies in robotics and intelligent machines. The programme features eleven exhibitions proposed by universities and research centres, presenting innovative solutions.

EXHIBITION  01

Coaching robotico per la salute fisica e mentale

Planning and Scheduling Technology Laboratory, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – ISTC

Developed at CNR-ISTC, this autonomous robotic coaching system combines a social robot, wearable sensors, RGB-D vision, and locally running AI to support physical and mental health. It interprets physiological signals and body movements in real time, plans personalised activities, and delivers adaptive, empathetic verbal and non-verbal feedback. Visitors can talk to the robot, move in front of the camera, and discover how context-aware robotics can promote exercise, motivation, and healthy behaviour.

EXHIBITION  06

Simulatore di chirurgia robotica

MedicalRobotics@DIAG, Sapienza Università di Roma

Discover robotic surgery through an immersive experience! Our 3D simulator virtually replicates the da Vinci surgical system and allows you to control instruments and the camera using hand and head movements. Wearing a Meta Quest 3 headset, you’ll be able to explore an anatomical model and experience firsthand how to interact with virtual surgical instruments. This technology, originally developed for the research and development of new instruments and algorithms, becomes an accessible and engaging experience for everyone at Maker Faire.

EXHIBITION  09

Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma – CREO Lab

Unità di Ricerca di Robotica Avanzata, Tecnologie Centrate sulla Persona

Prototypes and demonstrators developed using solutions that integrate robotics, sensors, control and feedback systems, and digital manufacturing. The booth will offer visitors the opportunity to get an up-close look at technologies born out of research and designed with a human-centered approach, focusing on interaction, user needs, and the context of use. This is an opportunity to discover how engineering research can translate into innovative systems and applications across various fields, all united by a human-centered approach.

EXHIBITION  10

Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma – CREO Lab

Unità di Ricerca di Robotica Avanzata, Tecnologie Centrate sulla Persona

The project features custom prosthetics and orthotics created using 3D printing and advanced muscle control and sensory feedback technologies. Originating from research, it explores accessible, modular, and low-cost solutions to improve the functionality, comfort, and adaptability of assistive devices, demonstrating how robotics, additive manufacturing, and biomedicine can converge in new, practical applications.

EXHIBITION  11

Wearable airbag

Jesùs Ortiz, Sergio Leggieri, Jamil Ahmad

Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia

IIT and INAIL are developing advanced wearable technologies to protect workers against falling from heights. At our booth, we will showcase a wearable fall protection device composed of a wearable airbag and a fall detection device. The wearable airbag offers protection to the torso (front and back), with extended protection to the hips, shoulders and neck, and it is inflated in a few milliseconds thanks to replaceable gas vials. The fall detection device can discriminate between real falls and natural movements of the operator to reduce the false detections.
