4^th Italian Conference on Robotics and Intelligent Machines

I-RIM, the Italian Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines, organized I-RIM 3D 2022, the fourth edition of the event on Robotics and Intelligent Machines.

Aim of the event is to offer an important opportunity for academics, researchers, and industrial actors working in the Robotics and Intelligent Machines sectors, to network, present the progress of research and tackle new challenges with particular attention to the perspetives and opportunities in Italy.

This year, for the first time in the history of I-RIM 3D, the event doubled down!!!

From October 7^th to 9^th, 2022: Robots in the Future. I-RIM conference took place in Rome, in parallel with the Maker Faire event.
October 13^th, 2022: Robots in the Field. Event took place in Milan, in parallel with the RoboHeart event.

Participants to the I-RIM 2022 Conference – Robots in the Future contributed in two modalities:

poster, with the submission of an Extended Abstract;
organization of Workshop/Tutorial on new technological and scientific challenges.

Participants to the I-RIM 2022 Event – Robots in the Field contributed with:

oral presentations, with the submission of an Extended Abstract.

Let’s get some numbers for the Roman stage:

– 72 posters presented with pitches in 3 sessions

– 11 workshops also sent in streaming

– 6 plenaries condensed into the Nature event

– 2 round tables with a total of 14 speakers

– 1 RoboPitch with 10 start-ups

As for Milan instead:

– 29 articles presented, all the result of collaborations between universities or research centers and companies

– 43 pre-registered for the conference

– 2 round tables (on the state of the art and trends in robotics and on how to promote collaboration between research and industry in robotics

– a keynote on the importance of research in industry held by Gianluigi Viscardi (President of Intellimech and DIH Lombardia)

– Robopitch event with the presentation of the 5 selected groups in Rome

– an active stand for all 4 days of the BI.MU fair inside the robotics pavilion (RobotHeart)

Over 700 people were reached online during the days of I-RIM 3D.
