The new science of intelligence

An event by Nature Italy and I-RIM

Rome, Maker Faire – October 7th, 2022

Nature Italy and I-RIM (the Italian Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines) present The New Science of Intelligence, a live scientific event that is part of the 10th edition of the Maker Faire in Rome.

This short and interdisciplinary conference will explore the new scientific territory that is opening up at the intersection of robotics, biology, and artificial intelligence. Visionary talks from leading Italian and international scientists will discuss the path towards a new generation of robots capable of exploring new environments, learning new tasks, interacting with humans in a completely new way.

The topics will range from machine learning to bio-inspired engineering, from autonomous vehicles and drones to human-robot interaction and brain-machine interfaces. The talks will present the latest developments in the field, the key scientific questions that still need to be addressed, and will show how scientists – including many Italian ones –are pushing the boundaries of Artificial Intelligence, while addressing fundamental questions on the evolution and nature of intelligence itself.
